Poker art

Age

First position on the left side of the dealer (A, Able, or Edge).

Agent

A player who is an associate or a partner for cheating in the game

Bedsprings

Identical to Cincinnati but in this game ten cards are dealt facing-up for all players to use in their hands.

Behind

When a player doesn’t have the strongest hand before the dealing of the last cards.

Consecutive Declaration

A rule which decides the order in which the high and the low hands have to be declared

Contract

At the end of a game with a split pot the act of declaring a high hand or a low hand

Deception

A necessary and an accepted means of playing poker.

Deck

All of the cards which are used in a game (Pack)

End Bet

The final bet before the end of an interval.

End Bets

The bets placed in the last round of the game

Free Roll

The locking of half of the pot with a good chance of winning the whole pot.

Free Wheeler

A rule where a bankrupt player is allowed to play for free till he wins a hand.

Gaff

A device or technique used by a player for cheating

Gallery

spectators who are not playing in the game

Gambler

A player who risks money on edge odds which are unfavorable

High-Low

A game where the highest and lowest ranking hands would split the pot.

Highball

Poker game where hand with the highest value wins.

Improve

To draw cards which would improve a player’s hand in best online poker.

A straight or a sequence

Jinx

A bad luck or a curse

Live Hand

A hand which has good chances for improvement.

Lizard

A device for holding out which works up and down on the sleeve of a cheater

Misdeal

A deal with fault which would result in a redeal

Miss

Failing to draw a good card. The term is frequently found at casino gambling blog.

Objective Attitude

An attitude which is rational and which is on the basis of reality

Odds

The chances of a player to get different cards or hands (can be used in roulette as well).

Pot

The area where the raises, bets and antes are placed.

Pot Limit

Poker game in which bets bigger than the pot’s size are not allowed

Quint

A straight flush.

Quint Major

A royal straight flush.

Rock

Any player playing a very conservative game is a rock.

Rock Garden

A table which is full of rocks

Shorthanded

A game, when it falls below a predetermined number of players is known to be a shorthanded game

Shotgun

Draw poker game that has extra betting rounds which starts after the dealing of the third card

Tierce

A straight flush of three cards

Tiger

A hand of low value from the seven to the two.

Tight Player

A player who does not bet if he doesn’t have a strong hand

White

The color which is commonly used for $1 chips.

Whore

The queen.

Woolworth

A game where all tens and fives are wild
